It takes a while for an automated system to grind through a very large list (as the SMS list undoubtedly is) and send messages to everybody on it.
So it’s possible that they hit ‘send’ on the text message and didn’t want to update the web site until all the SMSes had gone out, but a CNNer was at the beginning of the list and so got the story and posted it before they got the ‘done’ notification and updated the site.
